Introduction:
The Battle of Stalingrad is considered by many well-educated historians to be the most important battle of the second world war and the battle that turned the war in the Allies favor. Prior to the battle, the Soviets were trying to hold their positions but failed and failed. By the end of the war, more soviets would've died in the war than the Hebrews (More than seven times the amount of Hebrews lost) In total, the amount of Soviet casualties between 1941-1945 is forty-six million (According to the recent Boris Vadimovich Sokolov study). The battle of Stalingrad critically crippled the 3rd Reich, it eliminated Hitler's most ruthless divisions and slaughtered Hitler's waves of infantry. The battle also introduced to the world the importance of the sniper. A twenty-six year old named Vasily Zaytsev who not only was an expert in the art of camouflage and killed Hitler's top five marksman. He assassinated about seven hundred German troops. The Battle of Stalingrad was a revolutionary battle which exhibited rather new tactics and was the turning point of the second world war.
